Mini concert in the Phillipines consulate

DECEMBER 29 2023

December 29, 2023 was a bit of a busy day for us as we had two concerts. It was an opportunity to spread the Christmas spirit throughout the city.

At 4 in the afternoon we began the concert at the Philippine consulate where we sang in front of a small audience. We sang Christmas songs such as “Sleep baby Jesus” along with our famous ukuleles. We also sang “Angels we have heard on high”, “Pasko na naman” and more songs that are included in our Christmas repertoire.

We thank the Philippine consulate for hosting us and giving us this opportunity. But it doesn't end here, because after this great performance we hurried to the next concert at the residence.

Concert in the residence

The second concert of the day was dedicated to the grandparents of the Bastón de Oro residence who had the opportunity to enjoy a special concert organized by the Kudyapi choir. The event included the participation of the choir and we performed classic and popular songs from different eras, bringing joy and entertainment to the residents.

The grandparents, many of them with reduced mobility or physical limitations, were excited and grateful for the initiative. The music allowed them to relive memories and special moments, transporting them to times past and generating an atmosphere of happiness and nostalgia in the place.

The concert was a complete success and left an indelible mark on the hearts of the grandparents. The director of the residence expressed her satisfaction at having been able to provide this special moment to the residents, highlighting the importance of keeping the joy and festive spirit alive during the Christmas holidays. Without a doubt, this event will remain engraved in the memory of all those present as a beautiful gift to close the year.

Christmas party

DECEMBER 27 2023

Like every year, we always celebrate Christmas together with a party. This year we celebrated it at the Casal. The party started at 4 in the afternoon and, as usual, some people arrived late.

During the first two hours, we played games like musical chairs, passing the cup, and some typical Filipino games. Besides that, we also exchanged our gifts with our Secret Santa. All the children liked their gifts. Later on, the directors presented the prizes for the “Essay” about the trip to Italy. Congratulations to all the winners! Before dinner, we all watched the Italy blog together, laughed, and had a great time.

Then we all gathered to take a group photo as a memento, and afterward, we enjoyed food brought by our parents. Later, it was time for the parents to have fun, so they also played other games.

Mini Concert in the Sagrada Familia

DECEMBER 19 2023

Among the numerous concerts in December, it is worth writing about the one at Sagrada Familia. One very cold afternoon on December 19, the members of the choir gathered with other choirs from Barcelona in front of the Sagrada Familia. Most of them we already knew from past events in which they coincided with us such as 'Trobada de cors del Raval' or even 'La Gata Perduda'.

In our black suits with red scarves, which we usually wear a lot, we sang 'Pasko na Naman' and a Christmas version of 'Getting in the mood'. The audience was delighted to hear a Filipino Christmas song, since all the choirs sang in several languages and Tagalog could not be missing. The second song we sang on stage enlivened the audience with the cheerful rhythm of a classic song adapted to Christmas.

To end the concert, all the choirs sang a joint song named 'Santa Nit', where some of our members came on stage.

It was a successful event because while we were singing, many people passing by stayed to watch us sing. Surely Christmas touched their hearts with our songs.

The Ninth Anniversary: The Concert

DECEMBER 17 2023

One more year! This time we celebrate the choir's ninth anniversary. As always, we closed the year with a concert to remember what the choir has been, in this case, during 2023. It was held at Aquarella Music Restaurant and we were able to invite all our friends and family again.

This year, we were able to take advantage of many songs that we had especially sung during our trip to Italy. Furthermore, it was an opportunity to perform this cast in our city and in front of our closest people. We had also returned to a few songs from years ago and of course, the Christmas carols could not be missing.

As always, we sang, danced and played the ukelele. Even our own mothers (and father) took the stage, to demonstrate where our talented genes come from. We couldn't be more grateful!

The public welcomed us magnificently adn we all had a great time together. We enter a new year with great enthusiasm!

Intereligious Concert

DECEMBER 14 2023

On the 14th of December around 6 in the afternoon, I was so excited to go to the parish Sant Josep, Santa Monica and Sant Josafat church, to attend a mini concert. At the concert there were two choirs that performed first, a group of adults, they made me so impressed. After all the other choirs performed, it was the moment to showcase ours. I was so nervous, we sang four songs: The prayer, stand by me, isang mundo and at last, the little drummer. Right after the last song, the audience started to applaud. We were so proud of each other as we dedicated a lot of time and effort.

Knowing that we had people, from different backgrounds and cultures and more importantly from different religions and spiritual beliefs, we're glad to be able to make them smile, just by simply serving and praising our lord.

Mini Christmas Concert

DECEMBER 9 2023

On the 9th of December, we held a mini concert in la Basílica de la Mercé. At 5pm, we were gathered at the front of the church to sing thirteen songs for our audience.

After we positioned ourselves to start, one member of our choir, Ate Patty, our presenter, briefly introduced our group, and we began the concert.

We started off with some of the songs we brought on our trip to Italy. As we sang, we watched as the audience swayed along with us. The senior members later sang "Cantate Domino" and "Lift Thine Eyes", and a while afterwards we performed holiday songs to conclude. After saying our thanks and farewells, we finished with the classic Filipino Christmas song "Pasko na naman".

In the end, we enjoyed performing for everyone and are grateful to the father and the church for the opportunity to sing there. The church even prepared a little surprise and some snacks for us upstairs afterwards!
